The book fair, organized with the most renowned antiquarian bookstores, will offer the opportunity to admire and purchase volumes of inestimable historical and cultural value.
There will be around 40 Italian and international exhibitors, showcasing works of extraordinary rarity and beauty, ranging from manuscripts to first editions of masterpieces of world literature, incunabula, manuscripts, artistic bindings, bibliographical rarities, first editions of the 20th century and artists' books.
The set-up is by the Associazione dei Librai Antiquari d'Italia (ALAI), which includes antiquarian bookstores scattered throughout the country and is the only trade association in Italy. It is affiliated with the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB), which brings together 23 national associations, 35 countries and more than 1,600 specialized booksellers.
Villa Necchi Campiglio is a masterpiece of rationalist architecture designed by architect Piero Portaluppi in the 1930s and is the ideal site for this event. Located in the heart of Milan, not far from Via Montenapoleone and the Duomo, the villa offers visitors a unique experience thanks to its timeless elegance and interiors rich in works of art and fine furnishings.
The exhibition will be open to the public on Oct. 25 from 2 to 7 p.m.; on Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and, on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tickets (5 euros; 4 for FAI members) can be purchased online or straight on site. Advance reservations are recommended to guarantee access.
Villa Necchi Campiglio is also accessible to people with disabilities.
